This piece was inspired by ancient Japanese wall hangings and armour.

The contrast between steel and gilded brass is central to this peice.

The darker surface of the steel provides a strong visual framework, while the gilded brass introduces warmth and reflected light. Together, the two materials create a balance between industrial strength and precious-metal refinement.

Light plays an active role in the appearance of the sculpture. Reflections across the gilded brass change according to the surrounding environment, making the surface appear different throughout the day and under different lighting conditions.
